Who am I?

Life with Judi is very vague, so let me introduce myself!

My name is Judi, obviously!

I am 58 and will be 59 this October.

And boy oh boy do I struggle with admitting I got that old!

Let’s face it, all of us women over 50 have heard that Rue McClanahan was 51 when she filmed Golden Girls. That means for all of 20 something girlies watching Golden Girl in the late 80s had the concept of being 50 looking like this.

Does she look bad for 51? NOOOOO. But that is not how I am looking at 58. On a good day I look like this

I don’t know about you, but all the older women in my life always had shorter hair. and I have embraced my long hair. Yes, it is colored, well most of it is, but thats me at 58. No where near a golden girl.

So that is my age, but how did I get here?

In my late teens and twenties I was in the military. Yup, I spent 8 years on active duty in the US Army and a number of years in the Army Reserves. Yup, I did some sketchy stuff in my 20s and please don’t be asking my Army buddies for stories. That is a big reason my hair is now grey!

And then I hit my 30s. I became a homeschool Stay at Home Mom to 4 kids. and that time frame goes to almost my 50s. That is about 20 years focused on kids and a military husband. We moved around the states every few years. We experinced a lot. We made a lot of great friends.

Take that to my very late 40s till now. My husband is now retired and working on climbing the ladder at his job.

Me? I am trying to figure out life after having kids that no longer need me so much.

And that is HARD!

Now What?

Here I am though I am embracing life at 58 and want to share it with you all.

There are so many different topics. So many different things we look at so differently than we did in our 20s, 30s and 40s.  We are now Grandparent and have aging parents.

Its a whole different look that it was just 10 years ago.

And, if you are like me, we don’t see people like us hanging around the internet.

I love content creation. I really enjoy YouTube, IG Reels and TikTok. But let’s face it, most of the people are much younger than me.

Now yes, there are those out there that are my age, but it is the exception rather than the rule.

Is our lives over?

Many people are under the impression that old people don’t have the same quality of life.

For starters I am not old.

For second I want to think that my quality of life is even better.
