Stop waiting for the perfect time
Let me tell you something: stop waiting for the perfect time. The time is what we make it. We either procrastinate our time or we get on with our life.
Life will never be perfect. Something will always get in the way. There will always be something that is a higher priority.
Sometimes you have to make your own perfect time. You have to take that leap of faith.
Whether you are 25 or 55, your time and what you do is what you make of it.
Acknowledge Life’s Imperfections
Name just one time when the perfect time was for you to start something.
I’ll wait.
Chances are there never was a perfect time. Opportunities presented themselves, but other things had to be juggled around to take advantage of them.
There will always be something that seems like it takes a higher priority. There may be an obstacle, or two, that you have to overcome.
I am the wife of a retired Army Veteran. We always had something. A PCS move, a deployment and the list goes on. It never seemed like the right time to go out on my own, make my mark in the world, and start a viable business.
This is me getting in my own way. We all suffer from this. We let our kids and spouses take top priority. That isn’t a bad thing; I am not saying that.
But we could get up an hour earlier or stay up an hour later and work on things that make us happy. Starting that blog, doing business, working on that art project, or just doing things that make us happy. Things that we have been waiting for that perfect time to start.
The Importance of Taking Action
That leap of faith is a real thing. When you feel that something is for you, sometimes you just gotta do it.
Will you be successful?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no.
The thing is, you will learn something that will show you the path that you are supposed to be taking.
Let’s be honest; we never know if we will succeed unless we try.
Think of it this way. If we sit and dream of what could be for years and don’t do anything when we start, we are years behind where we would be if we had taken actions all along. Lessons learned, mistakes made and successes!
Time and Age are Just Numbers
What is the difference between being 25 and 55? 30 years? Experience gained? Contacts? Stability?
At 55, most of us have grown into our thoughts and beliefs. We have found the direction and the passions that suit our personality.
What a grand time to make those dreams a reality! No more waiting for the perfect time, but making now the perfect time for us.
Did you know that Harlan Sanders was 63 when he franchised Kentucky Fried Chicken? He had worked odd jobs his whole life. At 63, he made his perfect time.
Steps to get started
Have we decided to stop waiting on the perfect time, but to make it the ideal time? Let’s make a game plan to move forward!
- Step 1 Set clear goals. What is it that we have wanted to do? Instead of just dreaming it in our heads, let’s put a plan down. You can get into the nitty gritty and set goals to accomplish.
- Step 2 Break down those goals into smaller achievable chunks. COL Sanders didn’t just start with a recipe and franchise; he had smaller steps that got him to that point.
- Step 3 Always remember that failures are part of success. We learn from them, adjust our trajectory, and move forward.
Conclusion
It’s simple, really. Stop waiting for the perfect time. Make it your perfect time, even if that means taking a leap of faith. You got this!
