Let’s face it, the runDisney Princess registration queue does not care.
Princess registration started like many other runDisney registration days.
Until it didn’t.
Most of us hopefuls were online early and noticed something unusual right away. The pre-waiting room appeared to be open hours ahead of time instead of the usual 15 to 20 minutes before registration.
That was our first clue that this might not be a normal registration morning.
Then 10:00 a.m. rolled around.
Those of us sitting in the waiting room were supposed to be moved into the registration queue. Except that, for most people, nothing happened. A few seemed to get through, but there was no normal countdown and no clear sense of what was going on.
Most browsers were still sitting in the pre-waiting room.
And then social media did what social media does.
People started asking, “What’s going on?”
Someone, or several smart someones, checked runDisney’s Instagram page. That is where the announcement was posted: registration was delayed and an update would come at 10:30 a.m.
Then 10:30 came and went.
Another update said there would be another announcement at 11:00 a.m.
By then, all the anxiety and nerves leading up to Princess registration were on overload.
Around 11:10, the announcement finally came.
Registration for the 2027 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend would not be happening that morning. Another update would be posted at 8:00 p.m. ET.
At that point, the runDisney internet exploded.
There were sarcastic comments, angry comments, confused comments, and a few people trying very hard to be the voice of reason.
As I write this, it is 6:30 p.m., and we still do not know what is happening with Princess registration.
Many jokes were made about runDisney’s newest endurance event: registration.
And honestly? It felt true.
The queue does not care how long you have been sitting there. It does not care how nervous you are. It does not care about your hopes, plans, dreams, PTO, or the magical race weekend you are trying to register for.
So let’s talk about what went wrong, what you can control, and what you absolutely cannot.
Logging In and Getting Ready
There are a few things you can control on runDisney registration day.
Before the queue even opens, decide which race you want. If you are registering more than one person, have everyone’s information ready.
Have your payment card nearby. Even better, have a backup payment option ready too.
Log into your runDisney account early, but also keep your username and password nearby in case you are asked to log in again during the process.
Voice of experience here.
Those are the pieces you can prepare for.
What you cannot control is the technology.
As frustrating as today was, technology is still technology. We can feel that runDisney should be prepared, and I understand that feeling completely. But when something glitches, those of us waiting at home do not get to fix it.
We just get to wait.
The Queue Does Not Care
The runDisney Princess registration queue does not care.
It really does not.
The queue does not know if this is your first Princess Weekend or your tenth.
It does not care if you cleared your schedule.
The queue does not care if you took PTO.
It does not care if your stomach has been in knots since breakfast.
The queue does not care if you have been dreaming about this race for months.
During general registration, the queue is supposed to create a level playing field. That means it is not personal, even when it feels very personal.
That may be the hardest part of registration day.
You can be completely prepared and still have no control over what happens next.
Walter Chose Peace
This is where I think we all need to take a lesson from Walter.

While I was watching the screen, checking updates, and trying not to spiral, Walter had already made his decision.
Walter chose peace.
He was asleep, unbothered, and completely uninterested in the emotional chaos of the runDisney Princess registration queue.
Honestly, he may have had the right idea.
There are moments when you can prepare, show up, and do everything right, and then you still have to let go of the outcome.
Today was one of those moments.
What Princess Registration Day Reminded Me
I had three big takeaways from today’s almost-registration adventure.
First, patience really is part of the process.
Second, you can be prepared and still not be in control.
Third, runDisney registration is stressful, and it is okay to admit that.
Sometimes people act like we should be calm because “it is just a race.”
And yes, technically, it is just a race.
But it can also represent a goal, a trip, a training plan, a celebration, or something you have been looking forward to for a very long time.
So if you felt anxious, disappointed, annoyed, or completely worn out after today, you are not alone.
Tips for the Next Princess Registration Attempt
Whenever registration opens again, here are a few things I would still recommend:
Log in early.
Know which race you want before the queue opens.
Have your account information ready.
Have your payment and backup payment ready.
Do not refresh once you are in the waiting room.
Keep your device charged.
Take screenshots of anything unusual.
Have a backup plan.
Keep your expectations realistic.
And maybe most important of all, remember that you can only control your side of the process.
Final Thoughts
Whether you got into the queue, stayed stuck in the waiting room, or spent the morning watching Instagram for updates, Princess registration day was exhausting.
It felt like a mind game.
It felt like an endurance event before the actual endurance event.
And by the end of it, I think a lot of us were somewhere between laughing, venting, and staring at the screen wondering what just happened.
Sometimes the best thing you can do is laugh about it later.
Walter may have had the right idea after all.
Protect your peace.
The runDisney Princess registration queue does not care.
And apparently, Walter does not care either.
Update: June 2, 2026 7:30PM
runDisney posted another update this evening about Princess Half Marathon Weekend registration. June 2, 2026
The short version: registration is not happening tonight, and it will not happen this week. They are still working on a new registration date and time, and they said they will give at least 24 hours’ notice before registration opens.
They also mentioned that people may notice changes on the website this evening, but that does not mean registration has started.
Another update is expected by 8:00 p.m. ET tomorrow on runDisney social accounts.
So for now, we wait.
Again.
Princess registration has officially become its own endurance event.
And Walter still does not care.
What do you think?
Did you survive Princess almost-registration day? Are you relieved it is not happening this week, or are you more stressed now? Tell me how it went in the comments.
